Meet Sunny Acres Retrievers

A family breeding program dedicated to producing healthy, well-tempered Golden Retrievers in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to producing Golden Retrievers that excel as family companions. Every breeding decision is guided by health, temperament, and structure.

Our Story

Sunny Acres Retrievers began over 15 years ago with a simple love for the Golden Retriever breed. What started as a family passion has grown into a respected breeding program committed to excellence.

We focus on raising puppies in a home environment, providing early socialization, and matching each puppy to the right family.

Our Puppy Raising Program

We follow a structured developmental program to give every puppy the best possible start in life.

Health First

Every breeding is planned with health and temperament as the top priorities. All parents are OFA certified.

Early Socialization

Puppies are exposed to a variety of people, sounds, surfaces, and environments from an early age.

Puppy Culture

We follow the Puppy Culture protocol for early neurological stimulation and developmental enrichment.

Family Matching

We take time to understand each family and match puppies based on temperament and lifestyle.

What Sets Us Apart

  • 15+ years of breeding experience
  • All breeding dogs OFA certified - hips, elbows, eyes, heart
  • Puppies raised in our home with children and other dogs
  • Lifetime breeder support for every family

Training Doesn't Stop at Pickup

Every puppy that leaves here has a solid foundation, but the learning keeps going at home. We offer continued training programs, including a Board and Train option for young puppies that picks up right where the litter program left off. It makes the transition easier on the puppy and easier on you.
